Compass offers weekly Learning Coach Academy (LCA) sessions, since learning coaches play such a crucial role in our scholars’ collaborative, safe, and customized learning journeys within our tuition-free public schools for grades TK-12, serving Yolo, San Diego, Los Angeles, and surrounding counties.
Home Study or Online Learning Programs
Compass offers two learning programs: the Home Study Program (Options) and the Online Learning Program. In the Options program, learning coaches have the flexibility to select and implement appropriate curriculum from an approved community provider list, create a compelling learning environment, and provide personalized instruction according to their scholar’s learning plan. The Online program uses Accelerate Education as the curriculum partner and offers rigorous instruction in an online learning environment. In both programs, parents must be committed to spending adequate time supporting their scholar’s education.

Learning Coach Academy
The Learning Coach Academy (LCA) provides weekly live sessions that review the Compass mission & vision, values, and the Monday Morning Update before offering in depth lessons to help learning coaches develop the skills and knowledge they need to be effective educators. These lessons cover a range of topics, including Google Drive tips, growth mindset, and strategies for addressing scholar anxiety. We found that with consistent weekly engagement with our learning coaches, we help them grow as a leading role in their scholar’s academic success.
Freedom & Flexibility for Success
The LCA is just one of the ways that Compass provides personalized support for learning coaches. Our programs offer a great deal of freedom and flexibility – each family is unique, with its own learning and teaching style, family situation, and schedule. Compass families enjoy additional support to cater to their scholar’s individual needs with in-house counselors and tutors, The Orange County Learning Center (OCLC), online wellness programs, and regularly scheduled field trips.
