Thousand Oaks, CA – Compass Charter Schools (Compass) is excited to announce that its Superintendent & CEO, J.J. Lewis, has been named to the Valley 200 by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal for the fourth year in a row.
The July 2022 issue marks “the seventh annual Valley 200, a special standalone book featuring short profiles of the 200 most influential leaders in the Valley area,” shares Charles Crumpley, Editor and Publisher of the San Fernando Valley Business Journal. “Congratulations on your status as one of our area’s most influential leaders!”
“J.J. is not only a wonderful Superintendent & CEO, but he is also an amazing human being. Lewis has served as the Superintendent & CEO of Compass since October 2015. He is finishing his Doctor of Education in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California. He holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Science from Central Michigan University in history and political science. In addition, Lewis has a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate from Georgetown University and is a Certified Fundraising Executive.
Lewis serves on the American Association of School Personnel Administrators Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee, Association of Personalized Learning Schools & Services Advisory Committee, AVID National Superintendents Collaborative, Digital Learning Collaborative, Digital Learning Annual Conference Advisory Board, El Dorado County Charter SELPA CEO Executive and Selection Committees, The Charter Schools Resource Journal Editorial Board, Small School Districts Association Legislative Committee, and the Wellness for Educators Board of Directors. In addition, Lewis serves on the Central Michigan University National Alumni Association Board of Directors and chairs its Scholarship Committee, is the President of the Central Michigan University Mary Ellen Brandell Volunteer Center Alumni Board of Directors, and is the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity West Coast Domain Director.
