Compass Charter Schools Names their
March 2021 Scholars of the Month
Thousand Oaks, CA – Compass Charter Schools is proud of its scholars and uses its Scholar of the Month program to recognize their accomplishments. The program also ties into the Compass core values of achievement, respect, teamwork, integrity, and communication. Scholars are nominated by teachers and staff for their academic excellence, work ethic, leadership skills, and virtual involvement and selected by the leadership team for the monthly honor.
Compass Charter Schools of Los Angeles (serving the counties of Los Angeles, Kern, San Bernardino, and Ventura):
Elementary School Scholar of the Month: Hazel A., of Ontario
Michelle Fullerton, Elementary School Teacher shares, “Hazel is an amazing scholar. She excels at her coursework and goes above and beyond in learning labs. She is respectful in everything she does. I am so proud of her! Way to go, Hazel!”
Middle School Scholar of the Month: Christian K., of Chatsworth
Danielle Arnheiter, Supervising Teacher shares, “Christian is very respectful when he speaks during our connection meetings. He is well-spoken and enthusiastically describes what he has been learning. He is kind, respectful, and has a positive attitude. He is very talented and has a great sense of humor. He is a pleasure to work with!”
High School Scholar of the Month: Owen P., of Thousand Oaks
Danielle Arnheiter, Supervising Teacher shares, “Owen is very respectful when speaking during our connection meetings. He also communicates well and turns in exceptional work samples. Excellent work, Owen!”

Elementary School Scholar of the Month: Taylor G., of Rancho Santa Margarita
Brianna Attalla, Supervising Teacher, shares, “Taylor is extremely respectful in her conversations with me and her siblings. She is kind, compassionate, and polite in all her interactions. I love speaking with such a respectful scholar. Excellent job, Taylor! We are proud of you!”
Middle School Scholar of the Month: Holden K., of Huntington Beach
Elaine Amari, High School Teacher, shares, “Holden participates respectively and proactively in learning labs, and demonstrates a very respectable work ethic in his Health 7 class! Keep up the amazing work, Holden!”
High School Scholar of the Month: Charlie V., of Fallbrook
Rosette Sowell, Online High School Teacher shares, “Charlie works diligently to achieve his goals and is committed to attending college. He is dedicated to performing well academically to make his goal of college a reality. He communicates with his teachers and peers respectfully and professionally. The key to success is respectful communication, and Charlie is a great example of that. I am excited to see all that he accomplishes in the future. Way to go, Charlie! We are so excited to hear how respectful you are with your teachers and peers!”

Elementary School Scholar of the Month: Pranathi S M., of Hidden Valley Lake
Rebecca Jacobs, Supervising Teacher, shares, “Pranathi is a wonderful scholar who always goes above and beyond in her school work and her interests. She did a fantastic job in the talent show singing music in the Carnatic tradition of South India. She also respects her classmates in her writing workshop and did an excellent job on her Gandhi historical figures essay and speech. Excellent work, Pranathi!”
Middle School Scholar of the Month: Grace E., of Walnut Creek
Abigail Terrell Supervising Teacher shares, “Grace is such a pleasure to chat with! She is always smiling, greets me with kindness, and shares her work with pride. Her work reflects her respect for herself and her learning. It’s always neat, done with love, and turned in on time. Great work, Grace!”
High School Scholar of the Month: Benton M., of Benecia
Lisa Huerta, Supervising Teacher shares, “I am happy to nominate Benton for a scholar of the month. Benton shows respect for himself, his family, and our school by working diligently in his courses, being present at connections, and submitting work samples on time every month. Benton is a pleasure to work with and represents the values of Compass Charters Schools!”
