Thousand Oaks, CA – Compass Charter Schools (CCS) announced scholar Matthew Stephenson, a second grade scholar at CCS of San Diego, as the August winner of its #CCSFirebird Photo Contest. During the summer, the scholars were invited to decorate and name the school mascot, the Firebird. Then, scholars were encouraged to enjoy their summer activities with their decorated Firebird, and share pictures of their adventures with CCS on social media.
Matthew shared several photos of his travels with the CCS Firebird including a trip to the Filipino Cultural Arts Festival and a road trip through Illinois with his family. He will receive a pair of movie tickets as the grand prize. Other CCS scholars entered photos of their summer travels with the CCS mascot to museums, iconic U.S. landmarks and much more.
