THOUSAND OAKS, CA – The Compass Charter Schools (CCS) Board of Directors announced the appointment of Bill Dennett, and election of Martin Suarez, to its Board of Directors following a special meeting held last Monday, July 23.
“We are pleased to have Mr. Dennett and Mr. Suarez join our Board of Directors,” said Superintendent and CEO J.J. Lewis. “I look forward to their contributions in supporting the operation and growth of the educational opportunities we provide scholars at CCS.”
Bill Dennett is the Director of Pupil Services and Special Education for Mountain Empire Unified School District (MEUSD). With over 25 years of service at MEUSD, Mr. Dennett will bring unique experiences to the Board which will be of tremendous value as CCS continues to enhance and expand its programs to support scholars.
Martin Suarez, Deputy Director for the California Teaching Fellows Foundation, has over 21 years of experience in youth development programming and community expansion. His experiences in personnel, administration, recruitment, training, and strategic planning will help CCS continue to guide scholars along their educational journey.
“I’m thankful to be able to support a team of educators who are so involved in changing the future of our youth,” mentioned Suarez.
