Compass Charter Schools Announces Open Enrollment for the 2018-19 School Year

Thousand Oaks, CA –  Today Compass Charter Schools (CCS) announced the official start of its open enrollment for the 2018-19 school year, which includes online, homeschool and summer school courses for interested families.

“We are very excited to open our enrollment to families today,” said Mae Van Vooren, Director of Strategic Initiatives. “Our academic staff and school administration are diligently working to plan another enriching school year. We are committed to continuing our Compass Experience, which offers engaging and enriching courses and experiences to scholars throughout California. I know that I am speaking on behalf of all of Compass when I say that we are all truly looking forward to sharing the wonderful experience at CCS with scholars, both new and returning, throughout the upcoming year!”

CCS is a virtual independent study charter school serving grades TK-12 with a scholar enrollment of over 1,000. In 2012, CCS began with a small team of educators in Southern California committed to providing a safe, family-centered alternative to the traditional brick and mortar school for scholars throughout the state. While CCS has evolved over the years, the desire to provide excellent educational options has remained strong with our online and homeschool programs. Over the past five years, we have educated the highly gifted, the bullied, the athlete, the actor, the academically-challenged, the chronically ill, and many other scholars who sought a personalized educational experience outside traditional classroom walls.

CCS will continue to offer cutting-edge courses such as a-g science wet labs for high school scholars, and unique elective courses including fashion retail to enhance scholars’ learning experience. CCS also looks forward to organizing even more engagement events like field trips and workshops for scholars. CCS will continue to offer scholars the opportunity to play a leading role in their school community and encourages scholars to express their creativity and share their school spirit!
